Eduard Petlenkov, Tenured Full Professor
Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia

Eduard Petlenkov has defended his PhD in 2007 on the topic of Neural Networks based control of complex nonlinear systems. He is currently a tenured Full Professor with the Department of Computer Systems, Tallinn University of Technology, and the Head of the Centre for Intelligent Systems. His research interests include the domain of intelligent control, modeling and analysis of complex systems, digital twins, energy informatics and smart energy efficient buildings.

Landsnet hf. is Iceland’s transmission system operator, responsible for owning, operating, maintaining, and developing the national high-voltage electricity transmission system. Established in 2005, Landsnet operates Iceland’s main transmission lines and substations, connecting renewable power generation, distribution networks, and major electricity users across the country. From its control centre in Reykjavík, the company safeguards the secure and reliable operation of the Icelandic power system while supporting the country’s energy transition, electrification, and sustainable economic development. Landsnet’s work is increasingly shaped by digitalisation, data-driven grid planning, system monitoring, and innovative solutions for a more resilient and flexible electricity system.
