Eduard Petlenkov has defended his PhD in 2007 on the topic of Neural Networks based control of complex nonlinear systems. He is currently a tenured Full Professor with the Department of Computer Systems, Tallinn University of Technology, and the Head of the Centre for Intelligent Systems. His research interests include the domain of intelligent control, modeling and analysis of complex systems, digital twins, energy informatics and smart energy efficient buildings.

Nína received her M.Sc. degree in Electrical Power Engineering from Reykjavík University in 2025, where her thesis investigated the potential of wide-area measurement and control systems to improve power system operation in the Westfjords. She currently works at Landsnet in protection and control, focusing on protection settings, wide-area measurements, and control.
Landsnet is Iceland’s transmission system operator, responsible for operating and developing the national high-voltage transmission system. Its work increasingly involves digitalisation, system monitoring, and innovative solutions to support a secure, resilient, and flexible Icelandic power system.
